The birth of a legend...
One of the UK's first vintage clothing shops and Nottingham's longest running independent fashion clothing store - Wild Clothing is truly legendary.
Pictured on its opening day.
In April 1983 two ambitious young fashionista's working at Nottingham's Paul Smith store; Robin Pounder and Miles Oakley, saw a gap in the market for vintage clothing, took a giant leap of faith and gave birth to what has become a true Nottingham legend - Wild Clothing.
Still on its original site, 4-6 Broad Street in Nottingham's stylish Hockley district, it is Nottingham's longest running independent fashion clothing store and still going from strength to strength.
Wild's reputation was founded on its eclectic mix of top quality handpicked vintage clothing from the USA and the UK. Back in '83 this was mainly based on items from the 1940's to the 1960's. Today you will still find such pieces on the rails alongside styles from the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and the present day.
In September 2020 and after 37 amazing years, Robin & Mary handed over the reins of their beloved store to a regular customer and fellow vintage clothing aficionado, Shaun Hoolan.
New owner Shaun has already implemented some changes to the shop, including the introduction of new popular clothing brands; Run & Fly, The Dandy Gent and Geronimo retro tees. A big music fan and musician himself, he has added the sale of Wild Streak vintage vinyls - as well as building an enhanced social media presence and the introduction of this online store.
As Shaun embraces the shop's heritage and begins his own journey at the helm, you're invited to browse this store and follow us on social media - but remember, if you ever find yourself in Nottingham or nearby, be sure to drop in and enjoy the full Wild experience browsing two floors of vintage heaven and rummaging amongst the many, many treasures that are only available in store.
